What do truck drivers do?
Drive a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a large capacity payload of at least 26,00 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).
On the Job you would:
- Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in working order.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods.
- Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure.
- Choose optimal transportation routes and speeds.
- Notify others of emergencies, problems, or hazards.
The Program
This Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) program was designed in compliance with FMSCA regulations and aligned with of local trucking companies to meet their increasing demands for qualified drivers. To ensure our program remains successful, we continue to evaluate and improve based on changes in the industry. At SFCC, we believe we’ve found the perfect model to produce highly sought CDL certified drivers in a comprehensive four-week program.
If you choose our program, you will have the benefit of a 3:1 instructor ratio with the highest quality instruction and many hours of drive-time. What type of training can I expect?
The LearningForce’s unique CDL training program provides:
- A four-week course.
- Remote theory study, behind-the-wheel skills and drive time.
- Increasing amounts of traffic and different types of road conditions.
- Low use and high use docks.
- 3:1 student:teacher ratio.

Hazardous Materials (HME) | $86.50 | 21 years or older, for vehicles carrying hazardous materials. |
Tanker Endorsement | $25 | Required if vehicle needs a Class “A” or “B” CDL and you want to carry liquid or gas in permanent tank. |
Doubles/Triples | $25 | Required for hauls with 2-3 trailers in tow. |
These endorsements may be earned at the time of the license request by completing an additional written test for each endorsement. If endorsements are not obtained at the time of the original license request, additional fees will be incurred. |
