Top-notch commercial truck drivers are in demand in Missouri and throughout the nation. State Fair Community College offers the region’s leading Class A CDL truck driver training program, designed by employers to put you in the driver’s seat and on the road to a great job.
The Program
Whether you aspire to drive locally, or over the road (OTR), Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to excel at driving and get a job. We teach you the real world driving skills, how to keep logs and understand regulations and how to drive. When you successfully complete the course, you will have earned your Class A CDL license.
The program includes remote theory (instruction) prior to Behind the Wheel (BTW) range skills on campus for three weeks, which includes actual driving time, with supplemental training using the Virage driving simulator.
As your driving abilities progress, you will drive in increasing amounts of traffic, on different types of roads and under varied road conditions. Both low-use and high-use docks are used for practice. You will be required to pass a motor vehicle background check to be accepted by SFCC’s insurance.
Tuition and Fees
The cost of our Class A CDL truck driver training course is $5,210 plus $118.00 for
permit and licensure fees.
New classes begin monthly. Two weeks prior to class start, you will need to have all
your paperwork completed, have your CDL permit and pass drug and health
screenings. All tuition is due by the first day of class. See refund policy for restrictions and details.
