Sedalia, Missouri – State Fair Community College’s The LearningForce continuing education spring schedule for personal enrichment, professional development and workforce training is available online atwww.sfccmo.edu/thelearningforce.

The LearningForce will offer these wellness and dance courses in January.

Yoga classes will meet from 4-5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students should wear comfortable clothes and bring a mat or rug. Irene Renauld is the instructor.

Yogalates, a fusion of yoga and Pilates, will meet from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. This class offers stretching and strengthening of all major muscles and calms the mind and spirit. Students should wear comfortable clothes and bring a mat. Sue Guffin is the instructor.

A 15 percent discount is applied if enrolling in three or more yoga or Yogalates sessions at the same time prior to the start of class. PrimeTime Learners, anyone over 60 years old, get 10 percent off and PrimeMulti, anyone over 60 who registers for three classes, gets 24 percent discount.

Dentokan Martial Arts classes will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m. for youth (5-12 years of age) and 7-8 p.m. for adults (13 years and  up). This class improves and maintains your health by regular exercise and learning new skills and techniques in Martial Arts. Classes are for all skill levels and offer an opportunity to earn stripes, rank and belt degrees. Dan Brigman, a third degree Black Belt, is the instructor.

Beginning Country/Western Dance will meet from 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays from Jan. 14 to Feb. 25. This course, for beginners and people who want to brush up on their skills, teaches basic steps and simple variations of some of the most popular country and western dances:  Two-step, Cotton-Eye Joe, Waltz, Ten Step, and Swing. You may attend alone or with a partner.  Smooth-soled shoes are recommended. Mary Donnell-Brown and Travis Goosen are the instructors.  

Beginning Country Line Dance will meet at 7-9 p.m. on Thursdays from Jan. 16 to Feb. 27. If you like to dance but don’t have a partner, this class is for you.  Instructor Mary Donnell-Brown makes learning fun and easy. You will learn dances such as Electric Slide, Little Susie, Gleeful Waltz, Moves like Jagger, and several more current line dances. Smooth-soled shoes are recommended.
