Sedalia, MissouriNov 15, 2019 – State Fair Community College’s Theatre Arts program will present the children’s musical “Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience” Nov. 18-22 for thousands of area elementary students and at 2 p.m. Nov. 23 for the public in the Stauffacher Theatre on the Sedalia campus.

This play is based on the hit children’s book by Mo Willems and directed by Eric Yazell, SFCC’s Theatre Arts program coordinator and instructor.

The musical is a rock ‘n’ roll parable with a significant message for today’s audiences. Wilbur and his fellow naked mole rats in the Tunnel have always been naked, until Wilbur discovers a love for clothing and style. When his new passion turns life in the Tunnel upside down, Wilbur proves there is no need to be just like everyone else. All ages will find the message and music fun and uplifting.

The show is rated G. All tickets are $8. To order, go to www.sfccmo.edu/the-arts, call the Stauffacher Box Office at (660) 530-5814 from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or email tickets@sfccmo.edu. Wheelchair seating is available upon request.

SFCC’s children’s musical theatre is presented to nearly 5,000 elementary students annually. The children’s theatre is sponsored in part by Brick Front Grill, Sedalia Walmart, Barbara Cooney Memorial, Papa Jake’s Donuts, Randy and Marsha Eaton, and Andrew and Mary Treuner.
