Sedalia, Missouri – Sept. 4, 2020 – The LearningForce at State Fair Community College is offering the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education’s (IMSE) Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham methodology course online for teachers. Sessions will take place from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 26-30 and Nov. 2-6 in an online format. The cost is $1,275 per person; enrollment closes Sept. 26.
The 30-hour virtual training explains the Orton-Gillingham (OG) methodology that incorporates five components essential to an effective reading program: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. Participants will discuss how to teach fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension using the OG philosophy of multi-sensory, sequential, direct instruction.
The course includes training and assessment manuals, Recipe for Reading, Syllable Division Wordbook, and more. Additional support includes a one-year subscription to IMSE Interactive OG and one-year access to IMSE Online Refresher.
