Sedalia, Missouri – Oct. 28, 2021 – State Fair Community College will begin offering free Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) programs in November at its SFCC-Lake of the Ozarks campus in the Stone Crest Mall (upper level), 3797 Osage Beach Parkway. Enrollment will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 11 in classroom 122, or people can enroll online at www.sfccmo.edu/ael.
After enrolling, participants will receive information about attending an orientation. Class sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Nov. 16.
The free AEL classes offered include high school equivalency (HSE) exam preparation and skills enhancement sessions. The HSE prep classes help participants develop and improve their skills to pass the HSE exam. The skills enhancement classes help those with a high school diploma to increase their math, reading and writing skills. These classes also help people who have been out of high school for a while to refresh their knowledge before enrolling in college courses. New session cycles begin every six weeks.
For more information, call AEL staff at (660) 596-7289 or email ael@sfccmo.edu.
