Sedalia, Missouri – Feb. 2, 2024 – State Fair Community College’s The LearningForce will offer a 15-hour Hobby Welding training 5:30-8:45 p.m. Feb. 20, 22, 27 and 29 in Olen Howard Workforce Innovation Center on the Sedalia campus. The cost is $199 per person.
This course is ideal for people with no experience as well as those with some skill and knowledge who want to improve repair and equipment weld maintenance techniques. Participants will learn the basic principles of shielded (stick), gas (mig) and flux core arc welding. Topics include safety, setup and shutdown procedures, joint weld applications on mild steel, and how to design small projects for personal use or profit. The training will include hands-on time using welding equipment.
Participants must wear leather shoes, long-sleeve denim or cotton shirts, and bring their own welding hoods, all-leather gloves and safety glasses.
