Sedalia, Missouri – State Fair Community College will host a Health Sciences Showcase and open house from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, in the Sylvia L. Thompson Atrium inside Heckart Science and Allied Health Center on the Sedalia campus. High school students and those who have been out of school for a while are invited to come and explore healthcare careers at the showcase and open house.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about prerequisites, support services and employment opportunities for all healthcare careers. SFCC navigators who advise students pursuing healthcare careers will be there to answer questions and provide assistance.
Guests will learn how SFCC’s programs are structured and the admission and enrollment processes. SFCC faculty and students will provide demonstrations and tours of classrooms and labs with high-tech patient simulators and equipment.
SFCC offers certificates and degrees in a number of technical education disciplines such as dental hygiene, nursing, radiology, sonography, medical assistant, health information technology and more. The Nursing program, which has been ranked as the #1 program in Missouri, is offered in Sedalia, Clinton and at the Lake of the Ozarks. Medical Assisting is offered as a hybrid program with labs held in Clinton and the Lake of the Ozarks.
