Sedalia, Missouri – April 19, 2021 – State Fair Community College’s The LearningForce will host an open house for its Commercial Driving Academy (CDA) 2-4 p.m. Thursday, April 29, in the Fielding Technical Center parking lot in Sedalia. Entrance is located on Clarendon Road. In case of inclement weather, the open house will be held in Fielding Center, Room 260.
Credentialed commercial truck drivers are in demand locally and nationwide. SFCC offers the region’s leading Class A CDL truck driver program designed by employers. The nationwide median hourly wage is $21.
At the come-and-go event, attendees can meet Tom Nicholson, instructor, and The LearningForce team. Attendees will learn about the online training platform, funding options such as grants, apprenticeships and more to help pay tuition; and available employment options. There will be opportunities to sit behind the wheel of the semi used for the hands-on portion of the curriculum and to hear what it takes to earn a commercial driver’s license.
