State Fair Community College will host a career and technical instructor information, recruitment expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, for individuals interested in becoming instructors. The come-and-go event will be held in the Olen Howard Workforce Innovation Center on Clarendon Road in Sedalia. Lunch will be provided.

Anyone who is interested in teaching full-time or part-time in any of SFCC’s career and technology programs are invited to attend the expo. Program coordinators and faculty will share their experiences of transitioning from industry to education and why they chose to make that change. Human Resources staff will share the benefits of working at SFCC and provide details on the hiring process. Tours of the Olen Howard Workforce Innovation Center will be given.

As a result of program expansion and retirements, SFCC is seeking individuals with industry experience who want to share their skills and work experiences with students in a classroom and lab setting. No previous teaching experience is required. SFCC will work with eligible candidates who want to learn how to pass along their skills, knowledge and work experiences to students who are pursuing certificates or degrees in technical careers.

Currently, the college is seeking individuals with skills and experience in welding, industrial electrical maintenance, computer information system, and precision machining. Another high need is a building trades instructor for the State Fair Career and Technology Center (SFCTC) on the Sedalia campus. The SFCTC offers free training to area high school juniors and seniors.
