The State Fair Community College Theatre Arts program will present three different theatre productions for the fall. All performances will take place at the Thompson O’Sullivan Studio Theatre in the Stauffacher Center on the SFCC campus. 

Fall Productions: 

SFCC Presents: Macbitches

  • Dates: Saturday, Aug. 24, at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, Aug. 25, at 2 p.m. 
  • Directed by: Kristen Henning 
  • DescriptionMacbitches is a sharp and darkly humorous exploration of ambition and power dynamics within a college theatre department. When a freshman unexpectedly lands the coveted role of Lady Macbeth, tensions flare among the upperclassmen actresses. As the evening unfolds, fueled by alcohol and simmering rivalries, the women confront the pressures and power structures that shape their artistic journeys. 
  • Rating: The production is rated R and may not be suitable for children. 

SFCC Presents: The Mousetrap 

  • By: Agatha Christie 
  • Dates: Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, Oct. 3, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. Dinner theatre tickets for Saturday, Oct. 5, at 6:30 p.m. cost $15 per person and do not include admission to the show. 
  • Directed by: Tim Wells 
  • Description: The classic whodunit comes to life in The Mousetrap. After a local woman is murdered, the guests and staff at Monkswell Manor find themselves stranded during a snowstorm, realizing that the killer is among them. As suspicions mount and a police detective arrives to unravel the mystery, tensions soar, leading to a shocking climax that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

SFCC Presents: Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! 

  • Based on the book by: Mo Willems 
  • Music by: Debra Wicks La Puma 
  • Written by: Mo Willems & Mr. Warburton 
  • Dates: Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. (Lunch at 1 p.m.); Sunday, Nov. 24, at 2 p.m. 
  • Directed by: Kristen Henning 
  • Description: A fun-filled musical based on the beloved children’s book by Mo Willems. Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! brings to life the humorous and endearing tale of a pigeon who dreams of driving a bus, despite the bus driver’s firm instructions to the contrary. With catchy songs and a story that captivates young audiences, this production is perfect for families and children of all ages.
