Sedalia, Missouri – April 7, 2022 – State Fair Community College’s student art exhibition will open April 14 in the Goddard Gallery of the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art on the Sedalia campus. Admission is free. A public reception with refreshments will begin at 7 p.m.
This year’s exhibition will showcase new directions and introduce new technologies that the students are exploring in the Art program, including computer-based VR (virtual reality) tools. The students’ artwork will be displayed through May 8.
The annual show is open to all students taking studio art classes at the college. Each year about 50 students exhibit close to 100 artworks in a variety of media.
SFCC offers an Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) degree in Art that lays a foundation for upper-level class work and establishes a smooth transfer for SFCC graduates who may seek a bachelor’s degree in studio art at a four-year college or university. Courses include drawing, design, painting, ceramics, fiber, watercolor, sculpture, and art history.
