Business, industry and professional trade employers have a valuable opportunity on Sept. 25 to help influence and shape the future workforce throughout west central Missouri at one of the largest Career Days for more than 1,500 students in grades 8-12.
State Fair Community College will host the annual Career Day from 9-1 p.m. Sept. 25 on the Sedalia campus. Registration is already full for area schools to attend this year. Schools may still register but will be placed on a waiting list.
Owners and representatives are invited to participate in Career Day at no cost and lunch is provided. Engaging students and their school counselors at Career Day introduces future employees and customers to businesses and trades; informs them about the education, skills and training needed to be effective employees; and helps students make informed career decisions and set goals.
Exhibitors can reserve booth space that includes one five-foot table and two chairs. Displays, interactive activities, handouts, etc. are encouraged. Setup begins at 8 a.m. in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center and should be completed by 8:45 a.m. It is essential for exhibitors to remain at the event until 1 p.m.
Employers can register to participate in Career Day at www.sfccmo.edu/career-day on the Business and Industry tab. Registration deadline is Sept. 21.
