State Fair Community College has established the SFCC Employee Emeritus status to honor and recognize the long-term distinguished service of employees as administrators, faculty, and professional and classified staff.

Employees who retire from SFCC in good standing with a minimum of 15 years of full-time service are eligible for consideration. Employees seeking emeritus status can apply or be nominated by anyone by completing an application and submitting two letters of endorsement as evidence of distinguished service and good standing with the college.

Eligibility to apply expires two years following an employee’s retirement. However, any past retirees who meet the requirements can apply or be nominated for emeritus status consideration through 2024. Former employees who have already retired or anyone who wants to nominate a retiree may email SFCC’s Human Resources office at hr@sfccmo.edu and request the online application link.

Employee Emeritus status benefits include recognition in SFCC’s commencement program the year status is confirmed, on the college’s website and at the annual employee recognition banquet. Other advantages include an SFCC ID with emeritus status noted; access to SFCC’s facilities and services such as the library and fitness center; discounts in the Campus Store; admission to events and activities; participation in graduation and other appropriate ceremonies; invitations and notifications of relevant SFCC events, and full-time faculty overload pay rate for adjunct teaching.
