State Fair Community College is pleased to announce Treaka Young as the SFCC-Jefferson City campus director. SFCC and Lincoln University formed a partnership in April 2023 that created the SFCC-LU Connect Blue concurrent enrollment program on LU’s campus.
Young, who resides in Jefferson City, will oversee recruitment, enrollment and academic and financial aid support services to students who enroll in SFCC classes on Lincoln University’s campus. She most recently served as Senior Program Manager for the Missouri Child Psychiatry Access Project for Schools at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Young has extensive experience in state programs and agencies that provide various mental health services to children and senior citizens. Young also was an adjunct professor for three years at Lincoln University.
Young earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with a minor in Social Work and two Master’s degrees, one in Sociology and Criminal Justice and one in Counseling-Agency, all from Lincoln University. In July, Young will receive a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from University of Missouri-Columbia.
SFCC and LU’s Connect Blue program allows students to be admitted to both SFCC and LU simultaneously, giving them the opportunity to experience both two-year and four-year college life. SFCC students can take courses at LU for a reduced rate while fully immersing themselves in the university campus life, including living on campus and joining campus organizations. Students can work toward an SFCC associate’s degree and an LU bachelor degree at the same time.
