State Fair Community College’s Small Business & Technology Development Center (SBTDC) is offering business training for entrepreneurs and people in the early stages of starting a new business. The course material and presentations are designed to equip new business owners with information to build a foundation for success.
The training consists of 12 sessions that meet from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting March 27 in Fielding Technical Center, Room 253, on the Sedalia campus. The last session will meet May 3. Kelly Asbury, SBTDC director and certified training facilitator, and other business related experts will lead the sessions. The cost is $250.
Participants will complete a Small Business Administration approved business feasibility plan and develop and perfect a business pitch. Each will receive a launchU startup handbook, access to LivePlan business planning software and market research data from SFCC’s SBTDC, and support from a network of mentors. A pitch competition will be held with potential investors as judges.
People who want to attend launchU must submit an application to Asbury by contacting her at (660) 596-7350, emailing kasbury1@sfccmo.edu or by attending an informational meeting from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 7 or Feb. 27 in Fielding Technical Center, Room 253.
