Sedalia, Missouri – State Fair Community College’s Small Business Development Center will hold two workshops designed to help start small businesses and ensure success. Starting and Managing a Small Business and Basics of Business Planning are scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 18, on the SFCC-Lake of the Ozarks campus, Stone Crest Mall, Room 128, 3797 Osage Beach Pkwy. This training also will be offered at SFCC-Clinton Feb. 25
Starting and Managing a Small Business will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. This session will provide an overview of the steps to start a successful business. Attendees will assess strengths and weaknesses, learn the importance of planning and discuss legal and regulatory requirements. Additionally, participants will learn if they are ready to be a business owner and about resources to assist in startups. Cost is $49 per person, but current SFCC students may attend at no cost.
Basics of Business Planning will be held from 1-4 p.m. Participants will learn the components of a business plan, which includes business description, market analysis, financial projections, legal structure, service or product line and required funding. Cost is $49 per person, but current SFCC students may attend at no cost.
