State Fair Community College’s Small Business Development Center will hold a free workshop on Cyber Security for businesses from 8:30-10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Western Medical Center, Conference Room 1, 403 Burkarth Road in Warrensburg. Registration is required, but there is no cost to attend.
Cyber security is an ongoing challenge for small and large businesses, and many owners and managers do not know where to begin in protecting their digital and financial assets. Workshop topics include best practices to limit exposure, and how to create a culture of awareness among employees to avoid a breach.
Robert Lamm, president and CEO of Lamm Tech will conduct the workshop. Lamm began his career in the information technology industry over 30 years ago as a network technician and then as a project manager for a Kansas City consulting group. He later moved to the group’s consultation and business development unit where he conducted IT business management workshops. In 1999, he established Lamm Tech in Sedalia and provides corporate level consulting services and identifies industry trends that are important to his company’s clients.
