Sedalia, Missouri – State Fair Community College’s Small Business Development Center will host an informal mixer between 6 and 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, for people who are considering starting a small business or who are in the startup stages of a small business. The session will be held in Fielding Technical Center, Room 253, on the Sedalia campus. Registration is not required.

Kelly Asbury, SBDC director, will be there to talk about the launchU 12-session program, listen to people’s business ideas and concerns, give feedback, and answer questions. LaunchU is an effective program that equips entrepreneurs with information, access to experts and LivePlan business planning software, market data, and a network of coaches and peers that can lay the foundation for a successful business venture.

The program will be held 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Fielding Technical Center, Room 253, starting March 31 and concluding May 7. LaunchU participants need not attend the mixer to enroll, but they must submit an application. The cost to enroll in launchU is $250 per person; scholarships are available. Evergy is a sponsor of launchU at SFCC.
