The State Fair Community College Athletics Department will hold its annual athletic banquet at 6:30 p.m. March 27 in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus.
Student-athletes will be recognized for individual accomplishments, and former student-athlete, Shytoria Davis, will be inducted into the Roadrunner Athletics Hall of Fame, Class of 2017.
Davis was a member of SFCC’s women’s basketball team during the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 seasons. The Charleston, Missouri, native earned First-Team All-Region 16 honors both seasons. In her sophomore year, she earned Third-Team National Junior College Athletic Association All-American honors and ranked 10th in school history in rebounds per game with 8.32. In that same season, Davis helped the Lady Roadrunners to a 25-7 record.
After transferring to Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, she helped Middle Tennessee to a 28-6 record her junior year. She played in 20 games and averaged 1.6 points and 1.2 rebounds. She raised those totals to 2.2 and 1.8 respectively in league games and finished second on the team with a 51.6 field goal percentage.
