Karri Wilson, Executive Director of the Missouri State Fair Foundation, presented SFCC student Molly Prichard, an Agriculture major from Robertsville, a $2,500 scholarship for being selected as the Missouri State Fair Foundation’s inaugural 2024 Young Ambassador.

“Molly is going to help us learn what young people in the ag world need and want,” said Wilson. The Missouri State Fair Foundation supports, and is excited to partner with, the State Fair Community College agriculture program.”

The scholarship opportunity is part of a partnership between the SFCC Agriculture Department and the Missouri State Fair Foundation. Applicants must do an interview and make a speech to the committee in charge of reviewing applicants.  The committee then selects the winning Young Ambassador for the year. The ambassador is awarded a $2,500 scholarship. The opportunity allows the scholarship recipient to work with the Missouri State Fair Foundation during the fair and other networking events throughout the year.

“My first event was the foundation charity dinner,” Said Prichard, “they had me present my (winning) speech in front of a whole group of people, including the governor and the lieutenant governor!”
