State Fair Community College (SFCC) was honored to welcome Jee Hang Lee, President and CEO of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT), on June 24. Lee’s visit included a presentation, interactions with the SFCC Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and discussions with the board of trustee members.
SFCC President, Dr. Bates, provided Lee with an exclusive tour of the campus, highlighting recent expansions such as the new center for advanced agriculture and transportation technology, the residence hall, the agriculture facilities, and the SFCC farm.
“It’s a beautiful campus, it’s great to see the expansions going on, both with the new residence hall and Agriculture,” said Lee. I was also able to see the SFCC farm and it’s wonderful to see the life cycle of the farm.”
Jee Hang Lee has been an important figure in community college leadership since becoming ACCT President and CEO in 2021. He provides national leadership to over 500 governing boards overseeing community colleges across the United States and internationally. His dedication to education equity and access brought him to ACCT in 2006.
Lee’s visit to SFCC was part of his trip to Missouri for the Missouri Community College Association’s 2024 Trustee & Executive Leadership Conference that same week. His ongoing contributions to community college leadership extend beyond ACCT, as he serves on multiple boards, including the National Asian Pacific Islander Council (NAPIC), National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE), and advisory boards at the University of Maryland Global Campus and Community College Presidents Initiative-STEM (CCPI-STEM).
