Our campus resource deputy is a first responder in any safety or security situation. He is first on the scene for student and employee emergencies and can quickly connect with first responders in the community.
He covers special events, and is responsible for hiring additional law enforcement personnel for major campus activities. He is on campus at least 40 hours a week and his experience and knowledge in law enforcement are extremely valuable to the college community.
Deputy Curtis Hammonds
Deputy Curtis Hammonds was born and raised in Blackwater, Missouri, graduated Pilot Grove C-4 High School in 1997. Deputy Hammonds began his career in Law Enforcement in 2001 with the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Hammonds worked full-time in the Jail Division, while attending the Police Academy at the University of Missouri in 2002.
In 2003, Deputy Hammonds was promoted to the Patrol Division, as a Patrol Deputy, where he worked until he was promoted to the Patrol Supervisor in 2007 through 2019. During this time, Deputy Hammonds also became a trained member of the Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad.
During Deputy Hammonds off time he enjoys spending time with family, being outside amongst our beautiful forest’s and streams. Deputy Hammonds likes to stay active by playing any and all sports, fishing, four-wheeler riding and the occasional horse back ride.
