- All students who are or were enrolled at State Fair Community College on or after the date of the declaration of the national emergency due to the coronavirus (March 13, 2020) are eligible for emergency financial aid grants from the HEERF. State Fair Community College considers all students to have need for HEERF aid. However, students are prioritized on the basis of the most financial need, with priority given to those students with exceptional financial need. Those that are Pell Eligible receive larger direct block grants than those that are not Pell eligible.
- In addition to the direct block grants awarded to students (described below), students can also apply for additional emergency financial grants based on their personal circumstances for expenses incurred due to the disruption of campus operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These emergency financial aid grants may be used by the student for any component of the student’s cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care), or child care. The student may also request an emergency financial aid grant in the amount of an outstanding balance to pay off that balance to release a transcript hold, enrollment hold, or transfer credit hold.
