The State Fair Community College Nursing Club scholarship committee has awarded the Karen Lybarger scholarship to Alexis Cooney of Osage Beach, center, for the spring semester. Lybarger, who worked as a ward clerk at Bothwell Hospital, established the endowed scholarship for aspiring nurses. Students who apply must have a 3.0 grade point average and write an essay on the impact they hope to make in the nursing field. Whitney Watring of Otterville, left, Nursing Club vice president, and Tyler Finkle of Butler, right, Nursing Club president, presented the $540 scholarship.
