State Fair Community College is proud to host the Missouri State Museum’s traveling exhibition, Minerals Make Missouri, now on display at the Donald C. Proctor Library, located inside the Yeater Learning Center on the Sedalia campus. The exhibit is free and open to the public through Feb. 28.

The exhibit explores Missouri’s major minerals, showcasing the broad impact and varied history of the state’s mining industry. Visitors will also learn about the roles of the Missouri Geological Survey and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources in identifying, mapping, and using these minerals more sustainably. From limestone to cobalt, the full richness of Missouri’s mineral resources will be on display.

This exhibition complements Boom! The Rise and Fall of Missouri’s Black Business District, which has been extended through Feb. 28. This exhibit highlights the history of five pivotal Black business districts in Missouri: The Foot in Jefferson City, The Wedge in Hannibal, Sharp End in Columbia, Vine Street in Kansas City, and the Ville in St. Louis.

For more information about the exhibit, please contact the SFCC Library at (660) 530-5842 or email library@sfccmo.edu. Details about the library, including hours, can be found at https://www.sfccmo.edu/library/.
