Hannah Fay Painter, who grew up in Blackwater, is the new director of the State Fair Community College Boonville campus. She takes over for Kinsey Dona who left SFCC in August.
Painter recently moved back to the area from Henderson, Tennessee, where she was the Retention, Advising and Dual Credit coordinator at Freed-Hardeman University. For nearly four years she focused on enrollment and student retention through advising and maintaining relationships with more than 250 students. Painter managed five off-site dual enrollment programs, implemented online processing for Student Services, created a first-year experience initiative to increase student satisfaction, and set a record-breaking retention rate.
In 2013, Painter graduated magna cum laude from Freed-Hardman University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with emphasis in convergent media. She graduated from Boonville High School.
“I have been working in higher education for four years, and I enjoy the fast-paced, collegiate environment,” said Painter. “Now that my family has moved back to mid-Missouri, I am excited about continuing my career in higher education and using my experience to help grow SFCC in my hometown.”
Dr. Bates, vice president for Educational and Student Support Services, said Painter’s experience, education and hometown roots are strengths that made her an excellent choice for the director’s position.
“The Boonville location has done well since it opened on The Kemper Campus in August 2012 because of the great support we have received from the city and community. Hannah’s experience and her passion to help students succeed are great assets, and we are pleased to welcome her to the SFCC family in Boonville.”
SFCC-Boonville is located at 701 Third Street and offers an Associate of Arts degree for transfer to a four-year college, a Skills Certificate in Programming and classes in programs offered at other SFCC locations. Enrollment is open for second eight-week classes that start Oct. 18; the last day to enroll is Oct. 17.
