State Fair Community College invites the community to its 10th annual “Jingle on the Green” from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 30 on the Sedalia campus. Parking will be available in all lots on campus.
At 6 p.m. SFCC President Dr. Joanna Anderson and Board of Trustees President Randall D. Eaton will give a welcome and opening remarks in Yeater Learning Center lobby.
The free community holiday celebration features thousands of luminarias, 10 festively decorated trees, musical performances, desserts, art-making, and a free performance of the children’s musical “A Year with Frog and Toad.” “Frosty” will roam the campus spreading holiday cheer, and Santa Claus will stop by to visit with children.
New this year will be robotic demonstrations and interactive activities for children and adults in the Industrial Maintenance and Precision Machining Technology program areas in Fielding Technical Center.

In the Gerken Solarium, north entrance of Heckart, is “Oh Christmas Tree” and desserts in the adjoining Benefactors Hall of Honor.
The Campus Store, by Parkhurst Student Commons, will have a “Mitten Tree.” The store will collect mittens and hats of any size until Dec. 8 and donate them to local charities in observance of National Mitten Tree Day. Anyone who donates will receive a discount of up to 50 percent off any purchase. The store will be open until 8 p.m.
Volunteers helping with the event include the SFCC Spirit Squad; Radiology, Sonography, Nursing, Agriculture, Criminal Justice, Dental Hygiene, Improving Minority Advantages and Generating Excellence, and Student Missouri State Teachers Association clubs; students in the SFCC Music Arts and Athletic programs; and Smith-Cotton Junior High National Honor Society.
Other services have been provided by Great Western Dining Service Inc.; Fischer Concrete Services LLC; FFO Home; County Distributing Company Inc.; SFCC’s Industrial Maintenance and Precision Machining Technology programs; Daum Museum of Contemporary Art; SFCC’s Facilities Management; Marketing and Communications; Polly Grapes, Campus Store director, who creates the holiday themes and decorates the trees; and Ron Sayer, Music Arts program coordinator and instructor, who coordinates the music performances.
