Hire Attire – Collect Clothes

April 16, 2018, 9:00 am-5:00 pm

State Fair Community College is seeking donations of quality used women and men’s clothing for the 14th annual Hire Attire professional clothing sale.

Hire Attire was created to provide affordable professional clothing for SFCC students who are working or about to enter the workforce.

Donations of business and business casual attire will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 16 and 17 in the Thompson Conference Center in the Heckart Center on the Sedalia campus. Items requested include jackets, slacks, shirts, ties, blouses, skirts, suits, dresses, sweaters, and accessories.

On April 18, the Hire Attire sale will open to SFCC students from 12:30-4:30 p.m. and from 4:30-7 p.m., students and employees can shop in the Thompson Conference Center. An outdoor fashion show by students modeling clothing from the sale will be at noon at Lamm’s Landing in front of the Stauffacher Center for the Fine Arts. In case of inclement weather, the show will be in Yeater Learning Center lobby.

The sale will open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 19 and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 20 in the Thompson Conference Center.

Each item will cost $2 on April 18 and 19 and $1 on April 20. Throughout the sale, customers can enter drawings for $50 gift cards for every 10 items purchased. A total of 15 winners will be drawn, and they do not need to be present to win.

The Business programs and the SFCC chapter of Phi Beta Lambda, an organization for college business students, are event sponsors. Proceeds will fund student scholarships and the Hire Attire award for an eligible student. Cash donations also are accepted.
