Two meetings for voters in State Fair Community College’s taxing district will be held May 9 in Sedalia and Warsaw. The Sedalia meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at Fitters 5th Street Pub, 500 S. Ohio. The Warsaw meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at Common Ground Café, 145 W. Main Street.
External facilitators not associated with SFCC or the Building Strong Futures community committee will conduct the meetings. The purpose is to gather feedback from SFCC’s stakeholders about the bond measure on the April 4 ballot that did not receive the required four-sevenths majority vote to pass. The college was seeking voter approval for a $28 million bond measure that would have provided a new technical education facility, new and enhanced programs to accommodate workforce demands and renovations to existing buildings.
District patrons are encouraged to attend and share their perceptions about the bond measure with the facilitators. The insight will inform and guide the college as it works to present a revised proposal in 2018.
Food and refreshments will be provided.
