Automotive Service Technology

This is a two-year Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)-certified course. Students learn basic entry-level skills like diagnosing and servicing brakes, suspensions and steering, electrical and electronic systems, engine performance, and more for advanced placement in college automotive technology programs. Students who complete the program will have one year of work experience waived. Paid summer internships are available for qualifying students.

Certification: ASE Certifications, AC Delco Certificates and Ford Training Certificates.

Building Trades

This two-year Associated General Contractors of America (AGC)-accredited course prepares students for a variety of jobs in the construction field. Students learn skills such as framing, electrical wiring, roofing, painting, and finishing work. The program includes classroom instruction enhanced by the hands-on experience of building a 1,100 to 1,500 square-foot house.

Criminal Justice

This two-year program prepares students for entry-level employment in criminal justice fields or advanced placement in post-secondary training or college programs. Students will learn about the criminal justice system and law enforcement practices, study criminal justice content and develop communication, leadership and community service skills, which are crucial to criminal justice careers.

Certification: Police One Academy (various certifications), CPR certification, Physical Fitness Certificate, Academic Certificate and Leadership Certificate.

Early Childhood Professions

This two-year course prepares students for professions working with children from birth to age 10 and their families. Students will be responsible for planning activities that stimulate a child’s cognitive, physical, emotional, and social growth. They also will learn to provide a safe, healthy and loving environment that will allow children to explore and develop their natural curiosity and imagination. Students will gain hands-on experience in area schools and childcare centers.

Certification: Instruction is designed to aid the student in obtaining national certification as a Child Development Associate (CDA).

Graphic Design

This two-year program prepares students for careers in the graphic design industry. Students learn technical knowledge and skills in electronic layout design, principles of graphic and web design, digital manipulation, sublimation printing, vinyl design and preparation, and screen-printing. The program also provides outside experience to further students’ experience and skill levels.

Health Occupations

This one-year program prepares students for employment in the health care field. Students will learn about body systems, emergency procedures and medical terminology, as well as basic nursing skills like taking vital signs, personal care and hygiene, food service, and transfer techniques. Students will have the opportunity for hands-on training at a local health care facility and will job shadow in the health care field.

Certification: Instruction is designed to aid the student in obtaining certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Industrial Equipment Maintenance

This program will prepare students for a variety of opportunities in technical careers related to electrical and industrial professions. Students will learn skills for entry-level positions in manufacturing and electrical installations, service or maintenance. The program can be applied to certificates and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree.

Certification: Career-Safe Certificate: A 10-hour Occupational Safety and Health Training (OSHA) course and Certified Production Technician (CPT) certification.

Precision Machining Technology

This two-year program is designed to expose students to the high-tech world of advanced manufacturing. Students will learn to operate machines such as drill presses, milling machines, lathes, grinders, and Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) machines including computer controlled lathes, mills and lasers.

Welding Technology

This is a two-year American Welding Society (AWS)-certified course that covers the four basic welding processes—arc, Mig, Tig, and oxyacetylene—as well as welding print reading. Students practice hand manipulative skills to develop successful welding techniques. Technology, equipment, tools, and practices used in the welding field are also taught.
