State Fair Speedway has made a contribution to the future of agricultural and transportation education at State Fair Community College (SFCC). On Oct. 31, Larry McCown, representing State Fair Speedway, presented a $1,000 check to SFCC’s “Driving Growth, Harvesting Tomorrow” capital campaign in support of the Center for Advanced Agriculture & Transportation Technology (CAATT).
The CAATT project is a cornerstone of SFCC’s efforts to enhance hands-on training and expand career opportunities in advanced agriculture, automotive, and transportation industries. The 60,000-square-foot, $20 million facility will be located adjacent to SFCC’s new 200-acre farm. Once completed, the Center will feature cutting-edge facilities and programs, including:
- Expanded automotive technology labs accommodating new vehicle technology
- Light diesel technology with heavy diesel expansion
- Agriculture mechanics
- Precision agriculture
- A commercial driving academy
“Support from partners like State Fair Speedway is essential to bringing this transformative project to life,” said Mary Treuner, SFCC Foundation director. “This donation emphasizes Speedway’s commitment to driving innovation and growth in our region.”
