During State Fair Community College’s National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) National Letter of Intent Signing Day for Career and Technical Education on April 19, Knob Noster High School senior Ebanie Shaw was awarded the 3M Transformational Scholarship.
Shaw was one of 50 students nationwide to receive this scholarship from the 3M Company. She plans to attend SFCC in the fall to study agriculture. This scholarship provides students the ability to pursue a technical career for the purpose of building a workforce with the highest standards of skilled trades and education.
SFCC participated in this NC3 sponsored signing ceremony with 74 institutions across the country. High school students, who have chosen SFCC for the fall semester, attended the event to sign a letter of intent for the 2023-24 school year, like an athletic signing. It is designed to honor students who are entering a technical field and to celebrate the dignity of work. About 75 students along with family, friends, SFCC faculty and administration attended the signings on the Sedalia campus.
