Sedalia, Missouri – Aug. 22, 2022 – Altrusa International of Sedalia donated $250 to State Fair Community College’s Adult Education Literacy (AEL) program. The funds will be used to provide High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) vouchers to individuals who have participated in the AEL program and who want to earn a high school diploma equivalency credential. The vouchers will help individuals to pay for their testing fees.

Altrusa International, Inc. of Sedalia is an association of professional and business people who volunteer their energy and expertise in projects dedicated to community betterment. As a community service organization, Altrusa’s focus is on literacy.

SFCC’s AEL program is directed by Katie Stanley-Dietzman and offers free programs such as high school equivalency preparation, skills enhancement and English Language Learner classes, which are ideal for individuals who are preparing for the U.S. citizenship examine or the Test of English as a Foreign Language. SFCC’s AEL offers classes in Boonville, Clinton, Marshall, Sedalia, Warrensburg, Warsaw, and Lake of the Ozarks.

“The Altrusa program has been a longstanding and highly supportive community group to our AEL program,” said Stanley-Dietzman. “I am incredibly grateful for their donation to our program and the continued support they provide.”
