Sedalia, Missouri – July 6, 2022 – Brandon Hammond, TRiO Upward Bound academic advisor at Smith-Cotton High School for State Fair Community College, has been elected to serve as president-elect for the MO-KAN-NE (Missouri-Kansas-Nebraska) Board of Directors. MO-KAN-NE is a regional chapter of the national TRIO professional organization.
Hammond will serve a three-year appointment to the board as president-elect, president and past president. He will chair and coordinate the chapter’s 2023 Annual Conference. Additionally, Hammond will chair the Membership and Certification Committee and serve as a member of the Educational Opportunity Association (EOA) Board of Directors.
MO-KAN-NE is one of the 10 regional associations in the United States that form the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) that represents TRIO programs nationwide. The association provides its members with professional development and resources, sets professional standards in the field, and promotes equal access to higher education. About 140 TRIO programs in the MO-KAN-NE region serve more than 43,000 participants.
