Sedalia, Missouri  Oct. 25, 2021 – State Fair Community College’s The LearningForce will offer a two-day Hobby Welding course from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 18 in Fielding Technical Center welding shop on the Sedalia campus. Cost is $199 per person. 

This course is ideal for people with no experience as well as for those with some skill and knowledge but who want to improve repair techniques and equipment maintenance. Participants will learn the basic principles of shielded (stick), gas (mig) and flux core arc welding. Topics include safety, setup and shutdown procedures, joint weld applications on mild steel, and how to design small projects for personal use or profit. Class time will include hands-on learning experiences.  

Participants must wear leather shoes, long-sleeve denim or cotton shirts, and bring their own welding hoods, all-leather gloves and safety glasses. There will be a 30-minute lunch break, so participants need to bring their lunches.
