Sedalia, Missouri – July 27, 2021 – The Missouri Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at State Fair Community College and Missouri University Extension will host a family farm succession planning workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 24 in Thompson Conference Center in Heckart Center on the Sedalia campus. Pre-register without cost by Sept. 20 and enjoy a complimentary local foods brunch by area farmers. Starting Sept. 21, registration will be $10 per person and for walk-ins.
Wesley E. Tucker, Field Specialist/Ag Business, MU Extension-Polk County, is the keynote speaker. Tucker has worked for MU Extension for more than 20 years and is a fourth-generation farmer and succession planning coordinator. He helps farm families plan for passing management and ownership of the family farm to the next generation. This workshop will discuss steps for ensuring the next generation is set for success and protecting family harmony.
