Sedalia, Missouri – April 29, 2021 – State Fair Community College’s The LearningForce continues to offer customized workforce training in the Jefferson City area. The LearningForce works with businesses and industries to develop customized training programs specific to the companies’ needs. It helps businesses solve problems and ensures the workforce is equipped with the skills necessary to keep companies competitive in the marketplace. Training can be offered at the business site, online or at another identified training site.
The types of non-credit customized training available in the Jefferson City area include quality, safety, leadership, workplace skills (team building, problem-solving, project management, customer service, etc.), production, and technical. In April, The LearningForce offered an Industrial Electrical Maintenance 15-hour boot camp training at Scholastic. All training topics are available to be delivered in the Jefferson City area.
Several instructor-led virtual training options are available in June and August. From June 1 to July 27, an eight-week online Project Management training will be offered. From Aug. 10 to Sept. 14, a six-week online Learn to Lead: Transition from Peer to Supervisor training will be offered 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays.
Missouri One Start grant funds from the Missouri Department of Economic Development may be available to help companies offset the cost of training for their workforce. Amy Jackson, The LearningForce executive director, works with companies to apply for and secure these funds. Missouri One Start grant applications opened in April. If funds are awarded, the money will be available from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022.
The LearningForce serves SFCC’s 14-county region to provide non-credit customized training and professional development opportunities for industry workforce development, economic development and individual skills enhancement.
