State Fair Community College will again host one of Missouri’s annual “FAFSA Frenzy” events Oct. 25 to help college-bound students apply for financial aid.
The free come-and-go workshop will be held from 2-6 p.m. in the Donald C. Proctor Library computer lab in the Yeater Learning Center on the Sedalia campus.
FAFSA Frenzy offers free help to prospective and current students and parents in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, which is the first step in applying for federal, state and institutional financial assistance programs.
Financial aid professionals will be on hand to assist attendees in completing the 2019-2020 FAFSA on site and provide pertinent information about federal and state funding and scholarships. Attendees should bring their 2017 W-2 forms and/or tax return copies.
Drawings will be made for scholarships for students attending the Missouri events. Winners will receive their scholarships upon receipt of enrollment verification for the 2019 fall term in a Missouri postsecondary program. Drawings also will be made for door prizes.
SFCC is one of 53 public sites hosting FAFSA Frenzy events. They are offered in Missouri through partnerships between the Missouri Department of Higher Education and the Missouri Association of Student Financial Aid Personnel, the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority and National College Access Network.
