The State Fair Community College Theatre Arts program will present “Dracula” Oct. 3-14 in Thompson O’Sullivan Studio Theatre in Yeater Center 126 on the Sedalia campus.
“Dracula” is a gothic horror play adapted by William McNulty and directed by Tim Wells, SFCC instructor. The performance is rated PG-13 for mild language and gore.
Professor Van Helsing and his brave comrades must hunt down and destroy the profoundly evil Count Dracula. However, the count is resourceful, employing superhuman strength, psychic powers, and shape-changing to confound and frustrate his antagonists. Culminating in a wild and shocking confrontation between the King of Vampires and his pursuers, this adaptation is an action-packed, blood-soaked retelling of Bram Stoker’s classic tale of horror.
Regular performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3, 4, 5, 11 and 13; admission is $6, but admission for Oct. 3 is “pay what you can.” Midnight performances are Saturday night, Oct. 6, and Friday night, Oct. 12. Tickets are $16 for the Oct. 13 dinner theatre in Yeater lobby; dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. The dinner menu is available by calling the Box Office at (660) 530-5814 from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A matinée will be presented at 2 p.m. Oct. 14. Anyone 60 or older may reserve free tickets for the matinée.
