Members of the State Fair Community College Theatre Arts program will present the children’s musical “A Year with Frog and Toad” at 2 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 2 for the public in the Stauffacher Theatre on the Sedalia campus.
After waking from hibernation, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding, and learn valuable life lessons along the way. The two friends celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique and special.
Part vaudeville, part make believe but all charm, this story demonstrates a friendship that endures throughout the seasons of life. This jazzy, upbeat play, based on books by Arnold Lobel, was a Broadway hit and nominated for three Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
The show is rated G for all ages. Both performances are free of charge. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis.
SFCC children’s musical theatre is presented to nearly 5,000 area school children annually. The children’s theatre is sponsored in part by Barbara Lamy Cooney and Jim Cooney, Randy and Marsha Eaton, Culligan Water Conditioning, Brick Front Grill, Papa Jake’s Donut Shop, and SC Fuel.
