Why study theatre? Theatre Arts Mission Statement & Values Theatre is a reflection of life that helps us understand the world around us. Students who are involved in theatre learn many skills including better communication skills, creative problem solving, enhanced creativity, reading comprehension, adaptability, respect for others, a healthy self-esteem, respect for deadlines, dedication, concentration and many others. State Fair Community College Theatre Arts is dedicated to serving our community and students offering professional quality instruction and productions. Creativity, talent and imagination are traits shared by speech and theatre majors at SFCC. Our Associate of Arts degree offers a solid foundation of required course work to prepare you to transfer to a four-year program. Our faculty works closely with colleges and universities and professional schools to make sure you are well prepared for upper division courses. The Theatre Department offers enriching experiences in the technical and performance areas. We offer many opportunities to perform without competed with juniors, seniors, an graduate students. Our season includes five productions a year including three mainstage, a production for youth, and student-directed one-act plays. Peformances are held in the Stuaffacher Theatre, one of the best theatre facilities in the state. Our staff is very experienced and dedicated to each student's success.
