Show-Me Best Robotics competition
State Fair Community College is partnering with area business and industry to inspire Missouri students to pursue careers in
Engineering,
Science,
Technology, and
Mathematics
by providing opportunities for students to participate in sports-like science- and engineering-based robotics competition.
In fall 2013, SFCC in coordination with BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology), a non-profit organization committed to promoting these career paths nationwide, will provide the only competition hub in the state of Missouri for middle-and high-school age students.
Why is participation in BEST important? Because our nation needs a workforce with skill sets in these types of careers to help meet real-world challenges now and in the future.
Students involved in BEST become competent and confident in:
Abstract thinking
Self-directed learning
Teamwork
Project management
Decision-making
Problem-solving
Leadership
